Photo exhibit by Pattie Boyd: Her relationships with George Harrison and Eric Clapton
Picture this: Through the eyes of a muse – video from News On ABC (Australian Broadcasting Corporation) 10 Dec 2009:
It was something in the way she moves that caught the eye of not one, but two music legends. Pattie Boyd was the woman caught in the middle of rock’s most famous love triangle. After decades of silence, Pattie Boyd is giving her remarkable insight in what life was like as the wife of George Harrison and Eric Clapton.
In a video interview with News on ABC, Pattie Boyd said: “I think I lost my sense of identity when I was married. I know I did and it took me a very long time to regain it and find out who I was.”
Boyd’s personal collection of photography is now touring the world. The exhibition, “Through the eyes of a muse” depicts intimate moments during her days as rock royalty… but life could have been so much different for the English model had she not taken a bit part in the film, A Hard Day’s Night–a 1964 British comedy/mock documentary film written by Alun Owen starring The Beatles John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr–during the height of Beatlemania. Pattie Boyd, the then 19-year-old, had only one line in the movie but that was enough to win the heart of Beatle George Harrison. At first, Pattie Boyd turned George Harrison down but within two years on January 21, 1966, George Harrison married Patricia Anne Boyd.
Pattie Boyd, today a respected photographer, is still capturing unguarded moments with the lens. See the following video to hear more of what Pattie Boyd has to say about her relationships with Beatle George Harrison and guitar legend Eric Clapton and her photo exhibition, now in Sydney.
